Kanger DRIPBOX 160 Starter Kit

second vaporizer next to the smok prince as I'm new to vaping.the Dripbox 160 in white with about 3 weeks of use.

tl:dr overall real good basic rda squonk mod kit for fair price, nice to start with minor nit picks. id say maybe switch to a nicer rda later down the line mostly because of the drip tip and overall machining quality of the deck.

I like external batteries and using the Hohm Work 18650 INR 2531mAh 40.6A Flat Top, might not be recommended but have used the microusb to charge through the dripbox device and no issue so far doesnt take that long to charge and lasts quite a while at my vaping speed.

using the velocity deck with the prebuilt clapton and wick which didn't last long as I taste tested with the other juices via dripping which probably wasnt a great idea looking back but so far have built 5 pairs of coils of varying wraps and sizes which has been quite interesting and will get back to this later. the deck had this one post that was a little twisted unsure if that is right but i will not attempt to twist it back otherwise seems solid. one of the grub screws when changing for the first time already seemed to be slightly rounded, could be my fault, could be out of factory issue either case it came with extra grub screws that is more solid so far. it seems pretty small for an rda but with the coil builds is plenty of room for micro coils at 2-3.5mm diameters. i like the double oring on rda base but i dont like the top cap. it seems thin and chinsy and the single oring worked for a while but every now and then after couple of puffs it would leak between the topcap and barrel tiny drops otherwise works fine to suck on, change air flow and take off. would of liked some kind of knurling to twist with. the paint on the barrel has a small chip between it and the topcap dont quite remember if that was there or my fault.can leak out of air holes if over squonking or if wicks are too bushy and the squonk really goes and wraps around, sometimes similar ...

Kanger really made some good improvements to the original, I am really enjoying this setup. You can really chuck and get good flavor so easily with these RDA type pre-made coils. Never been easier, the squisher squoker dealy works well and keeps the wicks saturated with ease. It also comes with some adaptions for mouth to lungers, which work ok but this thing is definitely for the cloudchasers. You can though, use any other tank on it, just won't use the squonker. I put my TFV4 on it and it works great, lots of power. Nice in the hand for a bigger mod. Thanks guys!

I had the Dripbox and was pleased with it. It's marketed as a entry level dripper for someone new to dripping. It was my first squonker and I really liked it for work. I didn't have to constantly drip, just squeeze the bottle and it's good to go. The problems with it were lack of UI, no Variable Wattage and the battery box was just a screw on piece of crap. Also if you tightened the screw too much it would get stuck on just stay on eventually lighting it on fire. I went through squonker bottles every couple weeks too. it seemed once you got down to 1/2 a bottle you had to squeeze the hell out of it until the bottle broke.

The 160 has fixed all of these problems. The battery box is nice, no risk of starting a fire. The squonker bottles seem to work much better, almost too well if you were used to the previous model. It now has VW and TC although I have not touched the TC. I feel like TC isn't really needed for squonkers but that's just my opinion. It comes with 2 build decks, a nice new one with large hole for using the 2 sets of clapton coils provided to you and also one of the older disposables. I used the clapton coils for the first two days and I really didn't like them. Even with the provided splash guard it just kept flinging hot juice in my mouth. I'm really not a fan of that. In my opinion, use the new build deck and make a .40 coil out of .24 gauge kanthal, forget about the TC and it works great. nice mod for the money.

This is just a first impressions review since I've only had this for a few days. If it's durable and can go the distance like my sigelei 100 has only time will tell. The previous model dripbox only last 2 months before it just stopped working on me, luckily the day it died was the day the 160 showed up in the mail.
