APVs / Mods

Regulated and unregulated MODs are generally larger than compact electronic cigarettes. While mechanical (unregulated) MODs do not have any electrical components, regulated MODs (also known as advanced personal vaporizers) are generally extremely feature-rich.

Both mechanical MODs and regulated MODs are available in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and designs, with a vast array of available options. With a wide selection of brand names to select from, such as Aspire, Cloudmaker, Eleaf, Innokin, Innovape, Kanger, JD Tech, Innovape, Joyetech, Metal Madness, Youde, SMOKtech, Sigelei, Vapor Shark, Vaporesso, and many more, we are sure to have the perfect MOD for you.

Mechanical MOD: The acronym "MOD" stands for “modified.” Mechanical MODs are completely void of any electronic component whatsoever. Mechanical (unregulated) MODs are generally used with Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers (RDAs) and Rebuildable Tank Atomizers (RTAs). When the fire button of a mechanical MOD is pressed, it physically makes a connection between the battery and the atomizer coil, providing power to the atomizer and causing it to heat up. The primary benefit of unregulated MODs is that free of wires, microchips, and other electrical components, mechanical MODs are extremely durable, resilient, and dependable.

Regulated MOD: Also commonly referred to as an Advanced Personal Vaporizer (APV), regulated MODs are electronic vaporizer devices that contain microchips within them. These devices are generally very feature-rich, providing for variable voltage ability, variable wattage capability, temperature control ability, and battery level indicator functionality, among other options. When the fire button of a regulated MOD is pressed, it sends an electric signal to the battery, making it power the atomizer coil. Some regulated MODs are fabricated with an internal battery that cannot be removed, while others are powered by external batteries that can be removed and replaced.

Box MOD: Box MODs derive their name from their square, box-like shape. Box MODs can be both regulated or unregulated, as both types are available in the square form. However, as technology has advanced within the vaping industry, the term “box MOD” is now more commonly referred to as advanced regulated devices that offer an ever increasing array of features.

Temperature Control MOD: Many devices today are equipped with cutting-edge microchips that are capable of many functions. One of the most recent technological advances has been in the way of temperature control, sensing, and limiting MODs. When paired with stainless steel, titanium, or nickel atomizer coils, temperature control MODs afford you the ability to set and adjust the temperature of the atomizer coil itself. This, in turn, eliminates burnt hits, while substantially adding to the intensity and robustness of the e-juice.
