One of the most exciting and groundbreaking innovations to hit the vaping industry in 2015 was the introduction of temperature control capability. When used with devices that are equipped with temperature control and limiting abilities, temperature control atomizer coils allow for the temperature of the wire itself to be adjusted and regulated.

Temperature control coils are made with one of three types of metals: Nickel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel. Nickel coils are the most commonly used, followed by titanium, then stainless steel. Regardless of the wire material, all temperature control atomizer heads offer superior vapor quality, with extremely rich, robust, and delicious flavor production.

The particular grade of nickel that is predominantly used for temperature control coils is Ni-200. This particular form of nickel alloy is 99.6% pure, and is used for its unique qualities. Ni200 nickel has exceptional rust and corrosion resistance, magnetostrictive and magnetic properties, high thermal properties, low gas content, low vapor pressure, and high electrical properties. These characteristics make it the ideal metal for temperature control atomizer coils.

Titanium metal alloy represents the second most widely used metal for temperature control coils. Titanium is known for its exceptional tensile strength, robustness, resistance to corrosion, and its ability to endure extremely high temperatures. It is due to these qualities that titanium is the metal of choice for aircraft, spacecraft, and temperature control atomizer heads.

Stainless steel metal alloy comes in several grades and varieties. There are some general characteristics that they all share, such as resistance to rust and corrosion. However, the specific form of stainless steel used for temperature control atomizer coils is 316L. The letter “L” refers to the low carbon content of the metal. An austenitic metal, 316L stainless steel is known for its exceptional toughness at extremely high temperatures. This high tensile strength prevents the metal from rupturing at extreme temperatures, making it a great material for temperature control atomizer coils.
